Biography
Victor Aloyo, Jr., MDiv ’89, is the associate dean of institutional diversity and community engagement at Princeton Theological Seminary and head pastor of La Iglesia Presbiteriana Nuevas Fronteras. With more than 30 years of community engagement, multicultural relations, and congregational leadership in New Jersey and New York, Aloyo has his finger on the pulse of the prevailing issues of many cultures today.
Aloyo is the chief strategist at Princeton Seminary on matters related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Under his leadership, the Seminary has developed a Diversity Action Blueprint as a resource for other institutions to establish goals, objectives, and assessment criteria to strengthen multicultural relations within their organizations. He also initiated and continues to administer the Seminary’s “Courageous Conversations on Race, Power, Privilege, Stereotypes, and Justice.” Courageous Conversations is a series of campus-wide discussions centered around the topics of racism, gender inequalities, issues of oppression and power, and stereotypes. He also leads the Seminary’s urban ministry and community engagement initiatives, which cultivate sustainable partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, worship centers, and community residents in Trenton and the greater Mercer County.
