SUMMARY:Campolo Fellows Speaker Series: January 18-19\, 2018
DESCRIPTION:The January 2018 Campolo Fellows are Niki and Kelly Tshibaka\, accomplished attorneys who first encountered Tony at Harvard Law School. They are co-founders and co-pastors of The Lighthouse Fellowship\, a Foursquare church serving the DC-Metro area. \n \nSCHEDULE OF EVENTS \nThursday\, January 18th: 6-9 PM (Private)\nCampolo Fellows Dinner and Conversation with the Campolo Scholars and special guests. During this informal gathering\, we invite the Campolo Fellow to share their personal story (how and when did they discern their calling\, what and who influenced and affirmed it\, what are the unique challenges they face in ministry today\, etc) and to speak pastorally in to the lives of these students who are looking for examples of people in the world doing the holistic work of the Gospel. \nFriday\, November 10th: 10-11 AM (Open to the Public)\nEastern University\, McInnis Auditorium\nWindows on the Word Lecture: “‘Disciple'”–Noun or Verb?: How a Simple Definition Could Change the Trajectory of the U.S. Church \nBelievers agree we are to “go make disciples\,” but few people seem to know how to do it. Denominations report alarming and sustained declines in churches\, members\, and ministry leaders\, indicating the U.S. has become a post-Christian\, secular nation. How do we change that? Disciple-making. Drawing on more than 11 years’ experience in effectively making disciples\, Kelly and Niki Tshibaka\, pastors\, church planters\, and professionals in the Washington\, DC area\, share practical lessons they’ve learned in how to make disciples. \nFriday\, January 19th: 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM (Open to Public)\nEastern University\, Baird Library\, Walton Hall\nLuncheon and Q & A with Niki and Kelly Tshibaka. Lunch available for $5 \nThe Campolo Fellows Speaker Series is sponsored by the Campolo Center for Ministry in collaboration with Eastern University. Each semester we invite faith- and thought-leaders who are inspired by and share Tony’s vision for faith\, reason and justice\, to engage with the Eastern community and mentor the Campolo Scholars. These practitioners of the Christian faith encourage the Campolo Scholars to use their gifts and training for the benefit of God’s Kingdom. \nEastern University\n1300 Eagle Road\nSt. Davids\, PA 19087\n610-343-1715\nClick her for a campus map.

SUMMARY:Campolo Fellows Speaker Series: Kent Annan
DESCRIPTION:The goal of Campolo Center is to invest time and resources in gifted and promising students who have made a commitment to serve the Church and the world through full-time vocational ministry. With your help\, we can provide the Campolo Scholars with supplemental curriculum and practical experiences that will enrich and shape their lives and faith while living in Christian community at Eastern. \nFor example\, each Monday we gather for fellowship\, prayer and to discuss a ministry-focused book together. This semester we’re reading Kent Annan’s insightful book\, Slow Kingdom Coming: Practices for Doing Justice\, Loving Mercy and Walking Humbly in the World\, and look forward to concluding our study of it with Kent when he joins us as our Campolo Fellow Speaker on October 21. \nMoreover\, out of our commitment to support the Campolo Scholars’ spiritual formation\, the Campolo Center sponsored their attendance at Renovare’s Making Ordinary Saints Conference at the Church of the Good Samaritan\, a vibrant community of faith with strong ties to Eastern. \nYour gift designated for Tony’s Team at the Campolo Center makes it possible for us to provide practical and substantive resources and opportunities for the Campolo Scholars that prepare them for a life of faithful and effective ministry. \n*** \nCampolo Fellows Speakers Series (Kent Annan: Co-founder and director of Haiti Partners\, author of Following Jesus Through the Eye of a Needle\, After Shock\, and Slow Kingdom Coming) \n10 AM Presentation (public) \n11:30 AM Lunch and Q & A (public) \n4-7 PM Life in Ministry Discussion and Dinner (Campolo Scholars and Special Guests)
