Eloise is Professor of Cultural Anthropology in the Department of Social Transformation at Eastern University. She has done research on the lives of Dalit (“untouchable”) women, resulting in the book, Love and Revolutions: Market Women and Social Change in India. She has also written Studying the Image and On Knowing Humanity. She teaches in the areas of India, global economic systems, poverty, women’s experience, language and culture, race and ethnicity, and faith and science. She is also editor of the journal, On Knowing Humanity, and Director of the MA in Theological and Cultural Anthropology.
