Campolo Scholars Forum with Dr. Chris Hall: Practicing the Way of Jesus

January 24, 2022

The new year is off to a great start as we resumed our weekly Campolo Scholars Forum this week and were honored to be joined Tony’s dear friend and colleague, Dr. Chris Hall. Chris led us in a wonderful discussion about Practicing the Way of Jesus: The Path Toward Spiritual Maturity.

Regardless of where you are in your faith and spiritual journey, we hope you’ll find Dr. Hall’s presentation as practical, thought-provoking, and nourishing as did the Campolo Scholars. We’ve shared a link to the recording below. We’ve also updated the website to include all the Fall 2021 Campolo Scholar Forums.

The Campolo Scholars Forum is made possible with generous gifts from the Baugh Family Foundation, FBC of Philadelphia, and by Campolo Center supporters like you.

Recording Summary

Jesus was given the most important work in human history. The significant question is this: how did he go about his work? Are there specific spiritual disciplines that Jesus practiced that can help us as we follow him in our pilgrimage toward home? Discerning our vocation requires us to discern “what’s God calling us to do with our life, with the gift of years.” Dr. Hall asked us to consider: Am I living a good life? What would Jesus say is a good life — a life well lived? Jesus taught us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. And to love your neighbor as yourself. So how do we learn to love? Dr. Hall leads us on a journey to discover how we learn to love by following the pattern of Jesus’s life and imitating the ways and practices that Jesus learned to love God and neighbor.
