A Word from Scholar, Karen Bennett

April 19, 2021

There’s truly nothing quite like hearing directly from the heart of a Scholar to grasp the impact your support is having on the future of the Church.

Today I’d like to share a message from Campolo Scholar and Palmer Seminarian, Karen Bennett:

It is with a grateful heart that this letter of thanksgiving comes to you to sing praises to God for your kindness and charitable giving in support of the Campolo Scholars within the Campolo Center for Ministry at Eastern University.

It is my privilege and great joy as a Campolo Scholar to express my gratitude for your tangible expression of love and for your nurturance through prayer. The Campolo Center for Ministry Endowed Scholarship award is made possible through your generous financial assistance. Your support allows me to pursue my calling and vocation to serve God full-time as a pastor and prophetic leader within the church. Thank you for your faithfulness and generosity in empowering the next generation of church leaders.

I would like to take this opportunity to share a little more about myself. I am a Master of Divinity candidate at Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University and anticipate graduating in May 2022. My call to seminary came strongly in 2010, but it was not until 2019, when God made provision through generous givers like you to provide the academic training I needed for full-time service in congregational ministry. I remember God’s faithfulness every time I think of you.

As a full-time seminarian, pastoral intern, devout wife and mother, I look forward to matriculating from the academic rigors of seminary; however, I will miss dearly the strong, caring community at Eastern University that has supported and nurtured me. I am honored to call Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University my home!

I am humbly grateful for your assistance in empowering my voice to be heard, my love in Christ to be shared, and my gifts in leadership to be used.

“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you…” (2 Cor. 13:14).

With gratitude and hope,

Karen J. Bennett
